Music in the Eastern Algarve  Classical music concerts

The concert starts at 4 pm and tickets for 21 January are on sale at €25 which includes interval drinks and tapas.

Édua Amarilla Zádory, was born in 1974, in Kecskemét, and at the early age of seven, her outstanding gift as a violinist became evident. Taking part in a competition at the Franz Liszt- Musikhochschule, Édua wowed the judges with her exceptional talent and was offered a scholarship at this outstanding Swiss institute of music. In 1992, she began to study under star violinists Habib Kayaleh and Tibor Varga, and one of the greatest violinists of the 20th century, Yehudi Menuhin, recognising Édua’s exceptional talent, invited her to Gstaad, Switzerland to join his master classes. Vienna, the city of music, became the center of her life in 1997, and at the University of Vienna, Édua studied under highly acclaimed teachers Gunter Pichler and Ernst Kovacic. After her university studies, she began further master classes with István Ruha, Péter Komlós and the Altenberg Trio Wien. Concerts around the world followed as her international career took off and she has made numerous TV and radio performances (in Hungary, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium and France) as well a CD produced by Hungaroton. Her professional life in Vienna has been marked by numerous concert engagements. In 2009 Édua Zádory in Duo with Anastasiia Dombrovska won first prize at the prestigious Gaetano Zinetti international chamber music competition in Sanguinetto / Verona. Édua´s violin dates from 1801, and was crafted by Joseph and Antonio Gagliano in the Neapolitan style.

English born Irene Ainstein won 1st prize in a Competition for Young Musicians after only a year of piano study. After the conclusion of High School, she entered the Superior School Het Twents Conservatorium where she obtained diplomas in Chamber Music, and as Accompanist and Soloist. Irene has played in a number of ensembles and orchestras and has performed in Holland, Germany, England and China. She has also made recordings and participated in several festivals and master classes in Germany, England and Holland. Irene Ainstein teaches at the Conservatório Regional in Faro and continues to perform in concerts with members of the Orchestra of Algarve, with Michael Thomas of the Brodsky Quartet and she is the choice accompanist for singers such as the soprano Birgit Wegemann and mezzosoprano Esther Pierweijer. Irene has played on a number of occasions with Édua and she is also a key member of the Dutch Piano Quartet who perform every year here in the Algarve. Irene has been hosting classical music concerts at her home for many years. Starting with only one concert a year with The Dutch Piano Quartet, these events have proved so popular that she now annually hosts eleven. The final concert of each season is by the students of the Conservatório Regional who take the chance to perform before her discerning audiences. Édua and Irene will be playing an international range of music by the German Johannes Brahms, the Spanish Pablo de Sarasate and the Norwegian Filip Sande.
