A talk by Knut Myrer

Knut Myrer is an honorary member of the Norwegian Oriental Ceramic Society who has been staging exhibitions and talks on oriental arts since the early 1990s. He is the editor of a book on Oriental ceramics. He will be talking to us about the development of Japanese woodblock prints from the C17 until the mid C19. He will talk about artists such as Utamaro, Hokusai, Harunobu and Hiroshige. He will speak about the unique way these prints are crafted and about the impact of these works on artists such as Lautrec, Monet, Manet, van Gogh and the Norwegian painter Niolai Astrup who exhibited at the Dulwich Picture Gallery in London in 2016.
